Wakefield is a film that is quite effective and even funny at times. The story towards the end was a bit abrupt and illogical in nature. That's why I couldn't really appreciate the movie.

In times of self-isolation and mandatory confinement to keep your head up against an unseen enemy, this Wakefield is a pleasant seat. The premise is original: in a worn-out marriage where everything has been tried to keep the fire going, the man from one moment to the next chooses to take on the life of a raccoon (it was a raccoon, wasn't it?). measure through, yes, self-imposed isolation. Gradually, a metamorphosis occurs within the man. He learns to see the world and his marriage/family with different eyes.

The end leaves the viewer in the dark as to whether the entire screening actually took place, or at least that's my approach.

A pleasant film in a pleasant atmosphere with an excellent Cranston.

The Cranston Show.

Film that doesn't necessarily rely on the elaboration, but on the concept. I must say I've never seen it before, a movie where a man spies on his family from a window without them knowing where he is. Purely because I've never seen it before, I can already enjoy it a bit.

In addition, Cranston is also just a logical choice for the lead role and is a supporting factor for the film. It's also clever how the actors who appear less prominently in the picture, such as Gardner, also deliver reasonable performances. In terms of direction, it is fairly classic and it could have been a bit more atmospheric, but all in all it was put together quite neatly and tightly.

Towards the second half the story takes some twists that don't really catch on and Cranston's gibberish gets a bit tiring. It turns out that after some time the stretch is out of the concept and then it bleeds to death. The end is still manageable, but the drama does not catch on due to a lack of sympathy for Cranston's act and there is something in it, so it stops in terms of power.

Fortunately also some humor that pulls it as a whole to a satisfactory level, but otherwise a film that, despite the original core of everything, just isn't quite there. Wakefield is a movie that lives up to standards and definitely has something to say conceptually, just not as much as director Swicord is telling right now. Fair enough seems more than reasonable to me.
