"With the world on the brink of war, and the Nazi influence growing in South America, the U.S. Government sought help from a bunch of artists."
After America confirmed its participation in World War II, all hands were put on deck to remain close "friends" with South America so that they did not succumb to the influence of the Nazis. The "Good Neighbor Policy" served this purpose. Walt Disney was the man who took part in this. He made a journey through South America in 1941 which would later result in films such as Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros.
