Five Minutes of Heaven plot
"To face the future, they must face the past."
The story revolves around two men whose lives were devastated by the violent conflicts in Northern Ireland from the late 1960s to the peace process in 1998. One man, Alistair, is a murderer; the other, Joe, is the brother of the man he killed. Alistair doesn't dare ask for forgiveness, while Joe feels unable to give it.

Mediocre film in which a man, some 30 years later, is confronted with his brother's murderer during a TV interview. After a good and entertaining opening, the story sinks in and sees little progression until the final finale. And despite the film is fully concentrated on the two main characters and the two good protagonists, these do not always come across as believable.

Nice premise, poor execution.
Quite original to bring an IRA assassin and his victim's brother together for a TV show, a pity unfortunately that the confrontation takes a long time and is not part of the TV program.
Quite unbelievable, by the way, that both gentlemen fall out of the window of (I think) the second floor and walk away almost unscathed.
Not to mention James Nesbitt's acting, he was constantly walking around like he was on coke and his character was almost comical, which could never have been his intention. Sure, he's struggled all his life with the murder of his brother and the guilt that his mother saddled with, but I think he could have fleshed out his character better.
Neeson, on the other hand, is very convincing as a dejected murderer who is full of remorse.

The story could fascinate me, although my interest weakened somewhat after the possible confrontation in the building. I'm glad it's not an action movie, because that's not my thing. Not much happens, but that's what I like about this film. It does contain a certain tension, as far as I'm concerned. Enough. 3.5*
