Don't Bet on Blondes plot
"HE'D BET ON ANYTHING!"
Gambler and bookmaker Oscar 'Odds' Owen has come to the conclusion that an insurance company offers him better financial opportunities and less risk. Odds sets up an insurance company, pretending to employ skilled personnel. Colonel Jefferson Davis Youngblood buys a $50,000 policy from Odds for his daughter Marilyn, on the condition that it will not be paid until she gets married. Odds therefore makes every effort to ensure that Marilyn finds no partners. However, when Odds meets Marilyn, he falls in love with her and thus conflicts with the interests arising from his work.
