Salah, an African Toubab? plot

Salah Salahina Sounfountera, who lives in Mali, is a tourist guide in his home country. His ambition is to build a business. Because of his deviant views, he clashes with the prevailing norms and values in his country. He strongly opposes fixed traditions in which people could depend on others without providing for their own livelihood. Salah is seen by his wife, his friends and his family as a toubab, a man with the demeanor and character of a white man. In order not to fall outside the group, Salah has to conform to the prevailing views, but he does not do so wholeheartedly.
