The filthy but also very handsome Yau Muk-yan is without a job or shelter. He moves in with the shy piano tuner Chan Kar-fu. Both are bothered by their upstairs neighbor, Mok Man-yee, who plays his piano amateurishly. Later, however, they become obsessed with his music.
