BB #4
The spitting image of his father.
The prodigal son inherits his father's business empire and turns out to look exactly like him. A sort of Charlie Chaplin-esque farce is then spun around this, but without ever becoming funny. It is possible that the humor was in the dialogue and that it was lost in translation due to my somewhat poor French, but it seems to me more like something that perhaps hasn't stood the test of time.
In any case, BB has a more or less ordinary role for the first time in this film, with more or less ordinary acting as well. But it is just a rather small and insignificant supporting role – the plot revolves around Jean Richard receiving an inheritance. It is, however, a very different plot from BB #1, which also revolved around an inheritance.
Apart from that, it all amounts to very little; no one would remember this film if BB hadn't been in it. And considering I am writing the first post here after more than 70 years, not even with BB in it. And perhaps that is justified.
