Now, seven years later, another zombie is being released at an airport somewhere in the United States. The airport is slowly but surely starting to fill with the undead, and the macabre incident from seven years earlier seems to be repeating itself. Disappointing movie. The film starts off well with the airport scenes. Chaos, zombies and a plane that crashes, great start. Then Leon comes into the picture and the film becomes completely gruesome. More zombies, more bullets and a slow-mo combo from Claire, all good. But once they're out of the airport and the story comes into play, I lost focus a bit. I didn't think the story was particularly strong.

This wouldn't have been a problem if I could enjoy the action but the last 40 minutes was much less than the beginning. I think this was mainly due to the setting which was very boring. The nice thing about animation films I always find the beautiful fantasy full environments but the beautiful inner garden is immediately blown up.

I also thought the animation was really bad in the beginning. Compared to eg The Spirit Within, the facial expressions and the lip sync were much worse, which is disturbing. But the movie definitely had its moments and still fun to watch if you like the RES series ^^

Just started this Japanese animation from RE series.

The Hollywood productions of the first four RE films were good. Especially the last two, but this one I didn't like. For starters, the voiceovers. I thought it was fake and didn't fit. Especially that little girl. The characters were also very boring and uninteresting. I found that inexperienced police officer horribly annoying in the beginning. But you also don't learn much about them and you don't get any connection with them at all.

The script is really too simple and lacks depth. I really liked the music. Didn't add anything to the movie. But the worst for me was the animation. The animation was really ugly. The people have no emotion whatsoever. I also believe that animation should be funny. Leave the action and more serious stuff to real film.

Not good.

Although Kamiya can do little about it, I have the impression. The directing is by far the best this film has to offer, unfortunately the rest absolutely cannot follow.

Visually not really to look at. Characters seem plastic, zero comma, no emotions, moderately animated and far too static. The bigger problem is that the gore really doesn't look like it. The combination of these flaws makes it difficult to do much with the film.

Voice acting is also dramatic. Don't understand how they can screw this up so hard in America. Characters are clearly tuned to the American cast, I don't even know if there is even a Japanese dub, but I would almost recommend it to people who haven't seen the film yet.

Plot is very poor. Heap of clichés with eventually some generic mutated super monster blah blah blah. Fortunately, there are still a few reasonable action scenes and Kamiya's direction is inspiring enough. It cannot save the film alone.
