Rise of the Lycans. What will it be? Is it going back even further? Or maybe it will get better? Neither turns out to be the answer, it's from the same sheet and suit as part 2.

Another perfunctory tale, even less so than part 2, exploring the past surrounding Viktor and the origin of Lucian, the plot of the whole together with the relationship between Viktor's daughter and Lucian. Especially that leads to the emergence of all problems, and a sex scene that doesn't add much, just like in part 1. Yes, in principle we've seen everything before and this part doesn't surprise us anywhere either.

Yet the dark atmosphere and setting is quite okay, it remains nice and simple, partly due to the plot, Rhona Mitra is nice to see in terms of view, even though the human being can't act at all and the whole thing mainly floats on Nighy and Sheen, and we saw that we already in the first. Although not super convincing, the CGI does look a bit better than the two previous parts, we are of course freed from the horror that is Speedmann and the clatter of weapons does a lot of good even though the sometimes confused editing and the too fast images always of the party just like the predecessors. The soundtrack is nice although I thought the metal from the first one was more renewed.

For a moment I doubted whether Rise of the Lycans should have a 2.5, but I don't think the film is that much worse compared to Evolution. The judgment is therefore nice for once and for entertainment, but then most of it has been said.
