Bitch Slap plot

"Prepare to get slapped..."

Bitch Slap is about three women (an unlucky stripper, a murderous drug mule and an influential legal person) who try to extort a mob boss in the middle of the desert. Of course this is not smooth sailing, revelations are made and while mutual trust is fading, other hijackers arrive on the coast.

It may be an exploitation film, but I completely miss the atmosphere. I think eighty percent was shot in front of a green screen. Not that I have anything against green screens, but it sure looks damn ugly here. The only beautiful thing are the ladies and that's actually the problem. The sex element is clearly what Bitch Slap has to wear. Nice for pimply teenagers, but I just want some successful overacting, humor and especially ridiculous action. Only at the end do you see the latter a little bit. The flashbacks are very easy though. I really don't need to see everything explained. Soon it was just disturbing.

Given the women's content, I had to think back to DOA: Dead Or Alive. Fortunately, people don't try to play the martial artist here, although it must be said that the fights here are also of an incredibly sad level. These voluptuous women just can't punch, but it doesn't take away from the fact that Bitch Slap is quite entertaining, it just never ends. I like ridiculous movies, but this is just going too far for me. Nice to see once, but I'll gladly skip a review.

The good, the bad and the ugly.

Well, none of them are ugly, so you just have to understand that as if it's about the character. But what a great movie this is. Perfect pulp, an ode to exploitation, but better than we've ever seen in those genres.

A wonderfully nonsensical story that rattles on all sides, images that look as if three quarters of the film was shot very carelessly and with 1970s technology in front of a green screen, every now and then completely superfluous scenes that only have the aim of making the actresses so voluptuous possible to portray, hard-hit girlfights that seem to be directed by the makeup artist... Basically everything is just perfectly fine. Up to and including the idiotic quote from Sun Tsu, which turns out to be appropriate in retrospect.

In addition, really wonderfully wrong one-liners, and wonderfully wrong humor that is mixed in between all that with brilliant timing, not too much and never the same joke twice. I'll just call that meow-of-bad-cat. A lesser genius would have repeated that sound throughout the movie, but by leaving it at once, Rick Jacobson proves he knows exactly what he's doing. Brilliant story too, with crazy details like the Russian Popmeov, and Kinki and Deputy Fuchs as completely unnecessary extras... Perfectly done, and better than anything Russ Meyer or Tarantino have ever shown. I'm sorry if I'm going to step on someone's fanboy toes here, but I really can't make it otherwise.

See you again soon. Best movie I've seen in a very long time.
