Sailors Gabey, Chip and Ozzie are on twenty-four hours leave in New York. Chip wants to make it a cultural visit, but his friends are not interested in the sights and tourist attractions: they want to hit on a woman! Gabey sets his sights on Ivy Smith, the beautiful young lady voted "Subway Girl of the Month". Determined to track down Ivy, he and his friends embark on a wild quest across the city. Along the way, Ozzie falls for the charms of anthropologist Claire and Chip can't resist the sexy taxi driver Brunhilde.
