After the death of serial killer Jigsaw, forensic detective Hoffman continues his work. FBI Agent Strahm, who narrowly survives a test from Jigsaw, smells danger and delves into Hoffman's past. Meanwhile, five seemingly random strangers from Jigsaw learn a gruesome lesson about working together.

After a lesser fourth part, this fifth Saw film is also of lower quality than the first three. A lot is explained again and the whole story is correct, but that does not make this film more exciting. Most actors seem more like soap actors than real movie actors, especially that detective has little personality and also the successor to Jigsaw has little charisma. It's still fun to watch the entire series, but at no point do I sympathize with the victims who are all portrayed unsympathetic, and really you just want to see as soon as possible how they are killed in the most horrific ways. Especially the last kill is very memorable! The most original thing about the Saw series are the constant plot twists, like in this fifth part the denouement that the group of victims had to work together instead of killing each other to save their own skin.
