"It's funny what love can make you do..."
Dustin isn't much of a hooker and when he gets dumped by his girlfriend, he enlists the help of his buddy Tank. He is not only a master at seducing, but also at insulting women. After a dinner with Tank, the ladies are guaranteed to run back to their ex. But Dustin's girlfriend Alexis turns out to be exactly Tank's type, she resists his pranks with great ease and Tank immediately falls for her.

Soft comedy with no more than a handful of funny scenes. It often continues to worry with Jason Biggs and Kate Hudson's film career has actually been at a dead end from the start (with the exception of Almost Famous, 2000), that doesn't help dear mother (Goldie Hawn) .

Nothin'. I usually like Dane Cook in these kinds of films, and here too he is the main reason that the film is still somewhat entertaining. It just could have been a bit sharper and there is far too little humor in the film. Or the humor didn't work for me, that's also possible.
I had the feeling that the balance between hard humor/romantic drama was a bit off. Fortunately, that is finally made up for with the "ten step scene" at the wedding. I found Hudson and especially Biggs very mediocre. Baldwin would have liked a little more. Anyone can draw the ending.

Not really a great film that doesn't excel in any area. What the film has done well is the good choice of the cast. Biggs and Hudson are 2 faces that I always like to see in movies, but unfortunately they are not hilarious.
Cook often has to provide a comic relief, but this doesn't always work. Towards the end it gets a bit more comical, but in a pretty lame way. Fortunately, it did feel refreshing at the time, and the film scores a number of points on that.
I can't say it was smooth, but you can get through it. A story that is ok to follow, good acting but it lacks the real chemistry and humor a bit. For the rest it can go on.
