oh my.

How ugly is this movie. But really really ugly. Everything is just ugly. Every bit of tech, every futuristic vehicle or every "cool" location really doesn't look good. Ugly. You can't imagine how much ugliness and ignorance there is in this film. Or how you elevate failure to an art.

Furthermore, this movie apparently came out at the time of Transformers 2. Do not understand the comparison between the two films, they really couldn't be further apart in terms of quality, where this one really has to lose out on all levels. GI Joe is made to never be bored, and not to entertain for a second.

The clunky clichés pile up, from kung fu kids to stupid action hunks, some green destructive stuff (but hi-tech!) and some plot twists because you have to. I spent 120 minutes in disgust watching this asshole tried as hard as it could to be some kind of Marvel superhero movie, but didn't come out from under its own roots. GI Joe is kind of like the one transvestite who feels like a woman but doesn't bother shaving his beard. I actually still have respect for the way Marvel puts its films together.

The first half hour is interesting because it's so unbelievably bad, after that I gave up hope it was all some great meta-joke. Really the drain of the Hollywood action movie this vehicle. I just put that second part back in the fridge.

0.5*

Horror of a movie I tried against my better judgement, and really just out of curiosity and the sentiment I have for the toy as I used to have a lot of them. In fact, I still have the comics lying around somewhere...

Cobra gets an origin I think; forward. It is mainly the modern setting and gadgets that are disgusting and have little to do with the original GIJOE. Very small recognizable elements are there, such as certain names, the white and black Ninja are also very recognizable indeed, also kind of from the same nest, lady Jaye with her crossbow and Destro with his mask.

It's also the only thing that has anything to do with GIJOE at all, and the choice for this pumped-up sometimes cheap and clumsy-looking action spectacle is also a particularly bad one in my opinion, with characters that can be called the most one-dimensional unity sausages. Just the opposite of what GIJOE and her background was. Had just preserved the variety and differentiation precisely with the colorful characters, diversity in uniforms, equipment and qualities. Just like the X-Men, and then in a retro setting, to my detriment 1970s, because yes, then the first toys were already there. Such a line could have turned out much better than the current horror with the terrible chase through Paris , the moment where the film loses itself for good.

No, for a real GIJOE revisited, the toys will really have to come out again, because the film is so far removed from the real GIJOE that calling the film a missed opportunity is too much honour.

I actually watched this film against my better judgment (just like Lovelyboy) and knew beforehand that this is sometimes not my genre. The hero series with X-Men fascinated me, but Batman is also an example of films that I don't like. To bad for me?

I don't like The Joe's, too modern in appearance and a little more depth in the film?

I also couldn't get in touch with the players, and I couldn't make sense of who I was watching. Yes, the ladies outperformed the men in that regard.

A very small 6.
