Scandalously underrated horror comedy, which feels very much like a Troma piece. That is to say: an amazing story, bizarre humor, overacting and gore...

Zombie Strippers has it all in that regard. A crazy story where strippers one by one turn into zombies who amuse (and devour) their customers), bizarre humor that will make you watch the whole movie with a smile (the scene where a stripper pelts another stripper with billiard balls shooting her vagina is gold), a cast that doesn't take itself seriously (the Mexican congierge in particular was great) and quite a bit of gore too. That gore varies from hilariously fake CGI to pretty nice practical effects.

Zombie Strippers targets audiences that want to be entertained. For an award-winning plot, Oscar-worthy acting and subtlety, watch another film. For fans of the Troma works, for example, Zombie Strippers can do little wrong. Thick 3.5*

Zombies and strippers.

I expect a lot of gore from that, and the film certainly does not disappoint. Furthermore, not really, it is a reasonably successful attempt to deliver a cult film. Despite the fact that the actors and actresses are not particularly fond of (acting) talent, there was apparently not a very large budget available. Not very pompous perhaps, if you put it all together, but funny.

stupid.

Zombie Strippers. It is not a title from which you should expect miracles. That is not what this film is, but you could at least have hoped for a film that focuses on fun. The intention seems to be there, but the talent is not. As a result, the film has mainly become a stupid, annoying whole.

How idiotic of Englund to still play in these kinds of films. Much too good and appreciated as an actor to do such things. However, things got even worse after this movie. It's a shame that such an icon can use itself so little. Now I don't know if he was offered the really big roles, but I hope there were better options than this movie.

A bit further? A film that can include some nice effects and concepts, but can never communicate them properly to the viewer. The entire location looks bare and lifeless, but the horror isn't fun enough to remain memorable either. I thought some murders were original, but that's about it. Add to that lazy makeup for zombies and you have a movie that is not only unpleasant, but also coy.

I just can't do much with these kinds of movies. There is still something amusing hidden somewhere, but in this film it hardly comes out. For a film with such a title, you expect them to put a little more effort into the presentation, but those extra steps are missing in just about every area within this film. Bad.
