Third and final installment in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. After the disappointing but successful second part, this part took a completely different course. No more Shredder and the influences of the old cartoon series as well as the comics are hard to find here.

The story is simple and the characters are quite one-dimensional. Fortunately, you can always rely on Stuart Wilson to put down a good villain. The action is also fairly well done. The sets and costumes look nice and the camera work is fine. This time the dolls are not made by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, but by All Effects Company and unfortunately they look a lot less beautiful.

This third part is an improvement on part 2, but the level of part 1 is not reached anywhere.

As far as I'm concerned, certainly not as good as the fantastic part 2, but still entertaining

Reviewed yesterday with my oldest son (7). The predecessors - especially the first part - were much darker in tone, due to the ominous Shredder. This one no longer participates in this part and you notice that: it is all a bit lighter.

However, the combat is much better than in the first two parts. Also the many pop culture references from the early 90s are nice.

What I did find a pity in my youth is that I hardly recognized anything in this film from the comics and the cartoon (1987-1996). The whole time travel thing was made up especially for this film. That's why I marked him as "bad" in my memory. But it's not that bad.

Unlike the previous part, the Turtles are using their weapons again here. That was almost completely absent in part 2 due to all kinds of super-brave censorship committees. Apparently the rules were suddenly different?

2.5 stars!
