Hold Me Tight, Let Me Go plot

Children end up in the Mulberry Bush School who, usually because of a traumatic event, can no longer be maintained in the family and at school. At Mulberry, the children receive intensive attention: there are two adults for each pupil. What is also special is that the children are not punished. With endless patience, the adults continue to seek dialogue with the students, even if they are kicked, spat on and beaten. In extreme cases, the children are put into a more or less loving hold, which they only release when their posture has normalized. Director Kim Longinotto records daily life at this school.
