"It's Payback Time!"
Schoolgirl Ami decides to take revenge on a gang of fighters responsible for the death of her brother. However, she is captured by the gangsters who torture her and cut off her arm. With the help of a handy auto mechanic, she replaces her severed arm with a machine gun and goes after the criminals.

I like this kind of gore Japanese exploitation films but it was all just a bit too exaggerated for me and often also unbelievable. As a lover of the horror genre, I'm going to give it 4 stars, but there was more to it provided a more credible scenario, but by Japanese standards this is a very deserving film

Undeniably comical. In fact, had to laugh every now and then with this splatter. Especially with that yakuza with nails in his head. And luckily because it's a film that doesn't want to be too serious. A classic revenge story wrapped in a dirty jacket. The gory scenes are well dosed and there is room for minimal content. But all very amateurish and cheap indeed: you can just see the plastic blade of the chainsaw fluttering, the actors have just been plucked from the street and the dialogues seem to be written by a couple of teenagers. Yet it does not miss its effect. No more amusing.

Funny to see once, but in my current sober state I wasn't really impressed with Machine Girl. Of course it's nice and casual, and there are funny scenes (the jackhammer-bra and the tempura-arm), that's all. But I actually found it a bit on the boring side. A long run before anything really happens, obviously fake gore with mediocre effects, and the film tried to be a bit forcedly weird and edgy. Of course you don't have to do it for the story, tension or acting, so that only leaves me with a funny little nothing at times.
