Rodnya plot
Maria Konovalova travels from the village to the city to visit her daughter Nina and granddaughter. They are the only neighbors that Mary has. The kind-hearted and simple Maria has no idea how people live in the city. There she discovers that many things are very strange to her. Maria begins to organize everything in her own way.

Wonderful Russian drama. Nonna Mordyukova stars as the (grand)mother who puts family relations on edge. The scene where Maria stands on the balcony with her granddaughter's headphones listening to Boney M's Sunny and contemplating the argument with her daughter is perhaps the most beautiful. The transformation from a period of sadness to happiness. The interference is well-intentioned but ultimately culminates in a comedic dance-off with the ex-son-in-law she will lose. Her new date also leaves Maria to make another attempt at her ex-husband, whom she will once again find in a drunken state. But it will be fine
