When a whole bunch of ghosts suddenly appear in Karakura, Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki are sent out to defeat them. Along the way, they meet a girl, Senna, who defeats the ghosts with ease. Senna reveals that she is a Shingami, but otherwise refuses to answer a question. Ichigo and Rukia decide to follow her.
