Chop Shop plot
"Chop Shop" is the story of twelve-year-old Alejandro, a Latino orphaned child. He lives and works in an auto parts business in a large junkyard on the outskirts of Queens, New York. Alejandro runs errands there, tries to convince customers to come to his boss's shop instead of his competitor's, and learns how to paint and repair cars. The best moment in his life is the arrival of his sister, Isamar, who comes to live with him in the small room at the back of the business where he works. Alejandro helps her get a job in a food van, preparing and selling food to the workers in the area. With a mixture of childish innocence and grown-up ambition, Alejandro begins to obsessively save money to buy such a van himself, because he dreams of starting his own business with his sister.
