Very nice movie. Of course Emily Browning remains a sweetheart and besides that she plays well and gives some depth to her character, she is also well cast for that role. The other roles are also very well filled. Stepmother is scary, with the sister there is something like chemistry and only daddy has a somewhat strange role. And of course, it's only towards the end that you all start to understand his behavior.

The twist was partly surprising, and partly predictable, although I was naive to watch it. That was partly due to the amount of information that was given and because they already very explicitly let Browning come out of an asylum. So you first had the question: isn't she making this all up? That also resulted in a few good scares, but most of all I started thinking about a completely different direction. At least not that she had killed her sister de facto. That is a bit of cheating by going very emphatically in a certain direction and at the end saying: not at all. It works, but it's not kosher and somehow you feel cheated. But most importantly, during the film itself, I noticed that she never spoke to her father about her sister, that they were never together and that her father was a somewhat naive person. Understandable afterwards, confusing during the film and sometimes even slightly irritating.

Furthermore, atmosphere, photography and music were all fine. Nothing special, but better than the average comedy. All in all 3.0*.

By giving this film a chance, Certainly for the genre high average with a fresh sense.

Usually pretty good horrors are rated pretty bad here, much to my regret.

But I got through it with difficulty , and tended to reach for my cell phone , because it was so average , and all average .

Until the twist , which really cut it , under the category , definitely see it again , because then you look at everything with different eyes .

Just at three * .

And so don't be fooled by the mediocre ( so it seems ) story , but by the justified average !

Pretty okay.
