Bland mediocre annoying children's film.

The cartoons/movies were fun.

The striking thing is that animals can always talk in a children's film. It can therefore never be an ordinary animal because then it is not fun and vulgar for children. He also suffered from ADHD figures.

The voices were quite annoying (it even got on my nerves). Animals don't get normal voices anymore either.

The film is entertaining if the animals do not reappear for a while. I've seen chipmunks in real life, but they were a bit nicer there.

2.0 for the entertaining bits without the chipmunks and for the effort.

I'm not looking forward to the second movie because that looked pretty annoying as well.

Watched this one and it's not that special of a movie.

A family film with a standard story. Jason Lee who plays the main character found it a bit miscast. He didn't really have much appearance. The ground squirrels looked good and cute.

The Christmas song was a nice song, but the rest of the songs were a lot less.

Expect a film that doesn't require much thought, which is good to watch on TV.

Saw the part from 2011 some time ago (Chipwrecked). Now it was time to watch this first part. Although this part is better, it was still mediocre on certain fronts. Notably, it's very predictable and very rarely really funny.

The acting was okay. I was really annoyed by the character Ian, but I suspect that that was largely the intention and that the blame cannot be placed on the actor. Dave is an incredibly childish character, who should really come across as very mature. His intentions, on the other hand, are actually to be an adult. Still, he didn't seem mature at all. Possibly because it is a children's film and they have to recognize themselves in the character. I was annoyed by it. He could have played an adult father role just fine.

The story itself is fun, but as stated earlier, predictable. This is sometimes a bit slow, because you already know what is going to happen. Theodore has the cuteness factor and doesn't lose it throughout the movie. Simon doesn't always come across as smart, when he should be the genius of the three. I just love his character when he's so terribly clever and the other two don't understand. Alvin is just Alvin, there is little else to say about it.

Other than that, it's all very well made. The chipmunks are fine, their voices are okay. Then come to my most given vote here on MM: 3*.
