"Riddle, riddle, Debbie in the middle. Surprise, surprise, guess who dies?"
A couple goes on a honeymoon to Switzerland, but their stay there does not go as expected. They are terrorized by an old friend of the husband, who blames him for the murder of his girlfriend.

Murder mystery in which very little happens, but still very enjoyable to follow because of the unadulterated 60's charm with which it is made: colorful sets, an ecstatic soundtrack by Orlandi and sensual camera use. The interaction between the two main characters is also strong and enigmatic. Nothing spectacular or really quirky, but certainly enjoyable for genre lovers.

Mysterious crime film with some horror elements and quirky angles. Despite a lot of plot twists, the story remains interesting enough towards the end. In the end when all secrets are revealed, it even seems like a simple story where power and money prevail. Of course it is very coincidental that Marcel and Deborah both have the same design, but you can place all the plans at the lock. Be aware of the necessary incredulities here and there. The chemistry between Marcel (Jean Sorel) and the beautiful Deborah (Carroll Baker) is strong. But the stylish Suzanne (Evelyn Stewart) and Philip (Luigi Pistilli) are also on a roll. And of course don't forget Robert (George Hilton). The beautiful soundtrack by Nora Orlandi is striking. The atmospheric decors and camera use are also plus points. 7/10

A giallo over which there is often a game of yes or no whether or not it can be regarded as a giallo. Doesn't really matter to me. For me it was a gripping psychological thriller. Very fashionable by the standards of the late sixties and beautiful natural landscapes of Switzerland and France as a backdrop. In the finale it becomes clear that the plot is consciously or not a variant of the French crime classic Les Diaboliques (1955)[/ spoiler]. That is all said, but does not diminish the impact of the film. Only it cannot be maintained that it is a very original film. One for lovers of mystery and stylized stuff.
