A major of the disbanded Confederate Army gives a dollar to a young cowboy, Alan Burton, and tells him that there are two other similar dollars with different numbers. The three numbers combined show the place where the Confederate treasure is hidden. A number of people are involved in the research. But one by one they are liquidated. In the end only two are left: Alan with two of the dollars and a certain Hondo with the third. Hondo is determined to shoot Alan...
