Kinamand plot

Keld is a fat unmotivated Danish plumber who is on his own. When his bored frustrated wife leaves him, he eats at the Chinese takeaway across the street. He systematically works his way through the numbers on the menu. Unexpectedly, he befriends Feng, a sympathetic man with his own worries. Keld helps with the restaurant's sewerage, then Feng asks for his help with another problem: his Chinese sister Ling needs a marriage of convenience to stay in Denmark. Ling is a young woman who is not at all comfortable with this pro forma arrangement. Over time, Ling's influence brings Keld into a world of tradition, surprising rewards and unparalleled affection.

Wonderful film, taken from life.

Ultimately more drama than comedy, but there are a few nice parts that made me laugh. Especially the parts where he sits with the Chinese every day and another man is also almost a regular. You also encounter such types in real life.

Nice film about two different cultures that come together in the form of a marriage or a marriage of convenience, if you like. Keld is muddling about everywhere. He lets his work take its course and his marriage is not much better. Until his wife gets fed up and files for divorce. Everything takes its course even more when he decides to sell the entire furnishings. There he is: in his head he feels like an empty box and in reality he lives in it.

Although money is not so important to him, he still accepts the proposal of a Chinese restaurateur friend to marry his sister so that she can obtain a residence permit. The percentage he earns on it is therefore intended to buy out his ex.

Excellent Bjarne Henriksen here, natural and authentic. Also a great subject to stumble from one loveless marriage to another. A comic touch here and there, although it is indeed more of a light drama. Nice ending to the film too, a bit of a twist, but certainly moving. I wasn't always convinced of the film, which I thought could provide more depth, but quite OK.

If your wife says that her life with you was like a funeral, it is only natural that you call a post-mortem cleaner to remove everything...
It is the first sad fun in this Chinese/Danish film that can actually be described as a laugh and a tear in its entirety.
Keld is a good man who is saddled with bad luck but remains affable and, when necessary, is very magnanimous,... also in love.
A little emotion was also allowed in this beautiful, not causing a stir, so pleasant to watch.
