It's 2019 and the world has been devastated by war and fallen prey to anarchy. Mercenary Hugo Cornelius Toorop is assigned to escort the young lady Aurora from Russia to America. He finds out that she carries a virus that could mean the extinction of the human race.

pfff. Vin Diesel has played in so many Ka-U-Thee movies in recent years... Xxx was just a good action movie, the first fast and the furious was really good, a man went apart and 1 of his lesser known movies, find me guilty was nice too... But all those riddick movies, the pacifier and the 500 sequels to fast and furious...mostly all crap...
and then we have Babylon ad in between.. Visually quite nicely done, but a mediocre story full of (action) clichés, making it all fairly predictable.. More of a film for a while if there is nothing else to watch..

Had more resident. The first hour is fine though. Nice no-nonsense, fast pace, some cool, atmospheric settings and locations. Would be nice in it. Once arrived in New York it starts to stagnate a bit. It all goes a bit more nonsensical SF and at the end I hardly had the feeling that I was watching the same movie. The final scene itself is also crying with the cap on.
Also striking how the soundtrack got worse as the film progressed. In the beginning the music is sometimes still quite nice, but with the finish line in the picture it became more and more whimsical and kitschy.
But otherwise not a disaster to sit out. Could have been just a little bit more. 2.5*.
