Almost very good.

After 7 years finally sat down for this movie. And I'm quite sorry that I didn't succeed 7 years ago, then I would have found this one even better. The film itself has not lost a lot of power yet, but after 7 years of film hobby, the film lacks that little bit more to make it special.

I really don't have anything negative to say about this movie, other than that it doesn't really excel at anything. Levitt plays excellently, the atmosphere is nice and dull and dingy, the film is not too predictable and in terms of drama everything comes out well. It's all very nice, but when the film is over there is something too little that really sticks.

So very tasty filler. See that Frank has just released a new film, I think I'll pick it up a bit faster.

3.5*

It all feels a bit slow, the story and the main character literally.

But also this time it sticks out a bit again by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

That man often opts for the better film happening.

But so slow, that didn't matter, because towards the end there are 2 decisive scenes that are considered very good, and make it worth watching.

Can't rate him very highly.

A nice movie.

Correctly.

Scott Frank has made a name for himself in the series world these days, but the films he made before that are also worth it. The Lookout is not very ambitious in terms of intention and structure, but that means it has a strong core attached to it. This debut film is therefore quickly a result that exceeds the average level.

Anyway, this came out around a time when Gordon-Levitt was really proving himself well. As an actor, he is seriously good, only he sometimes gets stuck in films that let the budget speak. Once he gets the space to really act, I haven't caught him doing a really bad performance, and The Lookout doesn't change that trend.

Neatly decorated, neatly presented. Frank does exactly what it takes to efficiently communicate a story like this forward. I have to say that in terms of direction or visually it doesn't excel at anything. The use of color is still remarkably stylish, but the camera work as well as the editing are too inconspicuous to mix a real form of tension.

On the other hand, everything is going well. A story that has few holes, goes somewhere and also has good acting. Unfortunately, The Lookout might be a bit too safe to be a movie that will be remembered, but once you see the movie you'll be glued to the tube from start to finish. I'd love to see Frank do this again.
