When genetically engineered foods lead to a genetic abnormality that then leads to mass births of multiples, the government decides to allow only one child per family and freeze multiples by the Child Allocation Bureau, led by Nicolette Cayman, until one is born. solution is at hand. Nice.
I don't think this looks like Netflix movies at all. This film, with horror-zomedy director Wirkola at the helm, undoubtedly dares much more than the average film. The violence is a bit rawer, but what the film does best is to make you think.
I always enjoy films that play with the future. Here too, a social problem is being tackled hard. It is sometimes portrayed a bit heavy, but that didn't bother me. Effects and visual are all on level.
Rapace acts reasonably well in her 7 sisters role. Dafoe was okay though. Wirkola always knows how to entertain me, and with this one too. Recommended for Sci-Fi fans, but also beyond this film is simply recommended.

Deeds have consequences
Always wondering what happened to my weekend, 6 sisters wonder about their sister Monday, in a futuristic plot that takes place in 2073. Because the 7 main roles are all played by Noomi Rapace, it quickly becomes completely unpredictable which of the sisters will survive the whole thing, and who will die the moment all hell breaks loose. In my opinion one of the strongest points of the film.
Good to know is that the emphasis in this film is on the action, while it is set in a science fiction setting. The story works well in the background, but mainly serves as a coat rack to string together as much action and exciting moments as possible. Minimal attention is also paid to the different backgrounds of the sisters. During the story, the different character traits and qualities per character become more and more visible, but when you expect that each sister will stand still extensively, you come home from a cold fair.
Personally, I had no problem with the above point and I was able to enjoy myself very well. In the long run it became very unbelievable how far the sisters managed to get, but it was also strong that they did not all make it to the finish line. Although I would have liked to see more of life in an overcrowded world, the plot was otherwise well put together and What Happened to Monday is a must for both the action and Sci-Fi fans among us.
