When the curious and persistent journalist Ann Gorman [Dorothy Patrick] turns out to have a sharp analytical mind, police officer Harry Grant [William Lundigan] decides to use her help in exchange for the story of the search for serial killer "The Judge," who has been sowing fear in the city for six months. No famous names in this B-movie, but this is a pleasant filler that, under the direction of Richard Fleischer, stands out above its limited budget. While the eventual unmasking is admittedly not entirely believable, the finale is—thanks in part to the thrilling score by Leonid Raab—a satisfying conclusion to an entertaining Film noir.

Great crime film by director Richard Fleischer. I liked the unmasking of the serial killer.

also came about quite easily (by chance), but the film is entertaining from the start.

until the end, with a great conclusion as the perpetrator is hot on the heels.

With a runtime of only an hour, this is a nice bonus... A film noir featuring a classic hunt for a serial killer named the "Judge," who stalks his victims from behind and goes completely crazy from the falling rain.... The only problem is, no one knows what he looks like. Policeman Grant has a dummy made to potentially trigger memories in witnesses.
I don't know any of the actors, but it is a film that keeps you engaged and watching until the end. Yes, I like these kinds of noirs, even though this one isn't among the top of the genre.
