In the 1980s, punk was the scene of secular music. West Berlin was also under the spell of punk music. Blixa Bargeld by Einstürzende Neubauten, Wolfgang Müller (Die tödliche Doris) and Farin Urlaub (Soilent Grün) stood at the cradle of the German punk movement. Manfred O. Jelinski and Jörg Buttgereit portrayed the Berlin punk scene and mainly tried to create a clear picture of what rough life was like at the time.
