Stage Mother plot
"Her life was all CAREER and no CARESSES"
After the death of her husband and circus performer Frederick "Fred" Lorraine, dancer Katherine "Kitty" Lorraine devotes herself to raising her young daughter Shirley to become a celebrity. Kitty is so persistent in her task that she does not see when Shirley is suddenly ill and has to undergo surgery. Simple and patient artist Warren Foster shatters Kitty's plans when he wants to marry Shirley. Kitty therefore marries her daughter to the nobleman Lord Aylesworth. In the end, Kitty realizes that she made the wrong decisions for her daughter.
