Raising the Bar

Very mediocre. Clichéd and weak story, bad acting and abysmal dialogue. Now of course I don't belong to the target group, but even then you can expect a bit more than this. The low point are the turn commentators who tell us about personal relationships. Sometimes you also have to look with vicarious shame at which dialogues the actors have to regurgitate next. The bright spot is Karamalikis, who still provides a laugh with her energetic and clumsy playing.

Sports film with a predictable content, in which a lot of drama elements are forcibly thrown together and poured over a 93-minute film. Fortunately, director Clay Glen is supported by an enthusiastic and young cast, among which Kelli Berglund and Lili Karamalikis stand out. They ensure that the tired content is still given some color, because otherwise Raising the Bar offers little to make you happy (other than a number of impressive gymnastics stunts). Written without risk and shot with little courage, a film lover will probably be bored to death with this. Perhaps young viewers will get a certain amount of enjoyment out of it, but I dare to question even that with this cheap design.
