Superstar Jordan Jaye has one big wish. The pop singer would like to live the life of a normal teenage boy. When he is chased one day by a group of excited female fans, he finds the perfect hiding place. And he meets Emily Lowe, an art student. Despite being from different worlds, they discover they have more in common than they thought.

Be Somebody
Sympathetic teenage film. With Be Somebody you have the feeling all the time that the story can burst open at any moment into something dramatic and big, but the director deliberately keeps it as small as possible. Jordan and Emily, two characters who both have their own teenage problems and who get to know each other better through a chance meeting and help each other. It is clichéd, but it works here because of the good acting of the two young actors. Little drama, little action, not even an excessive amount of romance, Be Somebody tackles it a little differently and it works refreshingly.

Very sympathetic, especially because it is all kept small. Fine dreamy images also with many soft colors and beautiful pink at a sunset in the distance and music that also fits those images so nicely. It is that it is sometimes really meaningless, the main characters do not really have chemistry and the film is sometimes even a bit boring (in terms of rhythm the film could be a bit sharper), because otherwise this would have gotten a higher score. But I dare not give it a fail. 3.0*.

Fairly bare registration of a budding love between an ordinary teenager and a very famous pop star. Director Joshua Caldwell uses all possible clichés and does little to make Be Somebody more than it is now. To explain the romance, a dreamy and subtle atmosphere is used that radiates a certain potential, but ultimately lacks visual support. The acting of Sarah Jeffery is fortunately above average, but Matthew Espinosa seems uncertain in a role that seems to demand a bit too much of him. In the end, this film is not much more than a predictable, but concise elaboration of ideas that many a film lover will have seen many times before.
