Ari is 19, lives in Melbourne and is disappointed by his parents who want him to come home with a girl - preferably of Greek descent, just like herself. Ari, however, likes men, but doesn't dare to go against the traditions of his environment, keeps his feelings to himself and flees into drug use and anonymous sex with every man he can get. Over the course of a day and a night we see how he reacts against his surroundings, without knowing where he wants to go. Will the meeting with Sean turn out to be something or is he just one in line? Head On he plunges into a daze of sex, alcohol, drugs and dancing, fleeing from despair and in search of freedom. Head on is the film adaptation of Christos Tsiolkal's controversial novel Loaded.
