The Legend of Leigh Bowery plot

Australian performer Leigh Bowery was the source of inspiration for the London underground scene in the 1980s. As a costume designer for Boy Georges and as a model for the painter Lucian Freud, he could be found at all parties. His own hallucinatory costumes redesigned the body averse to all applicable standards. Inspired by a rhetoric of decadence, Leigh Bowery elevates his life to art. He himself was the work of art, his body his medium, with his clothes and make-up as instruments.
