"The Last Ride You'll Ever Take..."
A group of students stops at an abandoned amusement park after a road trip. Which in hindsight they shouldn't have done. They soon find themselves in a perilous situation when they are chased by a mysterious psychopath.

Why do I keep thinking that watching third-rate horror films on commercial broadcasters is going to provide any cinematic pleasure?
Not this one either, although I thought the haunted house itself was quite okay.
It's just a shame that the adolescent slaughter here is of such a deplorable level... that hippie girl, that chubby boy behind the wheel... at most I could sympathize a little with the nerd spreading movie facts around: you didn 't see Midnight Cowboy??!!
In any case, 2 cool kills...although that is a somewhat meager score in an hour and a half.

Did I just watch a different movie than you or something? I quite liked him. Quite fun even.
Not much happens in the first 45 minutes. The likable characters (especially Jim and the hitchhiker) were entertaining enough that the film never let up.
Partly because of the funhouse, the film has quite a nice atmosphere. There is no real tension, although there are some nice scenes (when that girl tries to grab the ax and he just sits next to her for example).
The killer is fun and quite brutal. Dark Ride has a few wonderful gore scenes, with the highlight being that police officer whose head is split in half.
The acting was not disturbing anywhere (although the movie nerd was a bit annoying at times).
Very nice horror film that is very underrated on MM.
