Kim Novak Badade Aldrig i Genesarets Sjö plot
Sweden 1962. Erik plans to spend his summer vacation at his parents' summer cottage, his best friend Edmund and his older brother Henry are also coming along. Near their summer cottage lives a girl who thinks she looks like Kim Novak. Her real name is Ewa and she teaches at the local school. What starts as a wonderful summer quickly degenerates into a nightmare.

I don't know where that middle photo comes from, but I don't think it's from this movie.
What a great, atmospheric and quite realistic film. A mix of multiple genres in which humor rises above drama and thriller. Not only in terms of dialogues, but also in small details such as Ewa's doorbell. Great cast who play great roles. With a fitting nostalgic music. The 'flash forwards' with the voiceover did not disturb at all. For me this is a Swedish topper.

Dreamy, melancholy coming-of-age film about two friends who spend a summer at Lake Genesaret in Sweden in 1962. The sympathetic characters, strong dialogues and striking humor make this a pleasant film, although the plot is not very much. Technically, the film is well put together, with many funny visual details.
