This one had been gathering dust for quite some time, but once set up on the occasion of the genre challenge topic. My expectations were not exactly high, and they were met. It feels like a part to milk the series, although I have to admit it does contain some good jokes and parodies. Nice snack, but you won't miss anything if you skip it. 2*

Part 4.

This very silly series was already at the fourth part in 2006, which they managed to pull together pretty quickly in just 6 years. The next part followed 7 years later, but that doesn't detract from the series that they have made a decent pace. Unfortunately, it is sometimes noticeable that this film has become a real studio easel.

This remarkably cameo-rich parody kicks in early with (the real) Dr. Phil and Shaquille O'Neal trapped in a Saw-inspired room. With this, the film actually proves immediately that it has a budget, and therefore has the ability to invite a number of special cameos to sit at the conference table with them. I actually just like it better.

Furthermore, this film is by far the most spectacular and largest film of the first four parts, and also the fifth part. Everything is done in a big way here, and that is to be expected since the film also parodies major blockbusters. It makes things quite entertaining with it, but unfortunately the sound obscures the really nice jokes a bit, so that this fourth part has slightly less successful humor.

The film is still chock full of references and the film still doesn't bother to be a little subtle somewhere. Sometimes it can be called funny, if you like the humor. It's also easy to imagine that many viewers don't really appreciate this kind of humor, but then again, what do you expect when you watch Scary Movie 4?

Entertaining nonsense, in this case very big nonsense. This part may not be very funny, but it still remains nice and big and entertaining nonsense. I was never bored with the movie, and even when I was sleepy, this movie kept me entertained. Not every movie can do this of course, but this one can. Fine for a once in a while.
