Man Push Cart plot

Ahmad is a Pakistani immigrant to America and also an ex-rock star. Today, he drives his cart through the streets of New York selling donuts and coffee. He tries to save his money for a house to live in with his son. The daily grind is broken by his meeting with a Spanish lady who works nearby and an offer from a rich Pakistani who reminds him of his rock period.

Beautifully shot, but just when I thought it was picking up speed, the film suddenly ended. And I found that a real shame.

For example, I really wanted to know how his wife diedand why he doesn't make music anymore

That's why I can't give too many points for this film, in my opinion there could have been much more in it

I can't call this a full-fledged film; it felt more like a kind of documentary about the daily routine life of an immigrant on the fringes of society.

As a viewer, it doesn't offer much. You learn nothing about the strange culture from which it originates. There's also no positive message to lift you up as a viewer. I'd best describe it as a somber, documentary-like, nihilistic film; there's no silver lining to be found.

I usually love these kinds of movies, but this one didn't seem compelling or interesting enough. I might as well watch a movie about my own life: go to work every day, do the job you're supposed to do, come home in the evening and mess around a bit, you know what I mean... It's not exactly captivating to watch, but if you're a voyeuristic person, it's not so bad

Maybe I wasn't in the right mood? Who knows...

I initially gave it a 5.5/10, but it kept haunting me all day, so I upgraded my score to 6/10, a subtle difference...

It doesn't bore you anywhere, but that's all there is to it: it's a missed opportunity.

An atmospheric, understated slice of life about a Pakistani immigrant (Ahmad Razvi) who drags his cart through the streets of New York City selling donuts and coffee. We gradually learn a few things about him, but the film deliberately skims the surface. The true pain and sorrow of the protagonist are not revealed to the viewer. Beautifully understated and compelling, in an almost mundane way.
