Disappointing film about a couple of girls who find out that they are dating the same boy. A high school comedy that is sometimes bland and sometimes funny. A nice design in itself, but the execution is on the brave side. Predictable of course and with a lot of clichés. The acting is of a poor level.

“It's not even my date and he still gets me out of my skirt!”

Quite fun. These kind of teen rom-coms have been done a hundred thousand times before, and for that matter, John Tucker Must Die is predictable as hell. But I must say that the actors are not bad and visibly having fun. What spills over to the viewer. Especially the actresses (Snow, Bush, Ashanti and Kebbel) do well, but Metcalfe also holds up well. Whoever cast Snow as gray mouse must have been blind or drunk, but I'll forget about that for a while.

Nice.

I repeat it in every review I write in the high-school genre, but it always remains so easy to get into. A failing grade with a high-school movie isn't going to happen to me anytime soon, unless it's another typical vulgar American comedy.

This film mainly excels in characters and freshness. It is absolutely never boring, but also really nowhere. It is striking that this film still scores below average on MM, because I think it is certainly one of the better in the genre. The entertainment is very high.

Of course it all remains a bit predictable and well-behaved, but here eventually an attempt is made to convey it a bit more humanely. But that goes with two faces. Attention is paid to a number of life questions, but the American characters sometimes also prominently walk around here.

But the real saving grace of the film is Snow himself. She was completely absorbed in her role, and the charm she manages to put down here makes it hard for me not to see her. The traits, the charms. She really does an excellent job, and knows how to easily hold the attention.

The rest also act well, including the 3 ladies and Metcalfe himself as John Tucker. Perhaps relatively experienced, but they certainly do act. It's also nice that the jokes never get over-the-top or annoying with a lot of foul language or yelling. That also makes the film a bit more catchy.

Doesn't last long at 89 minutes. You do miss something really special, or a certain twist, but otherwise a very entertaining high-school film with an excellent lead. Had a lot of fun with this genre again.
