Tod im Führerbunker - Die Wahre Geschichte von Hitlers Untergang plot
The documentary begins on April 20, 1945, the Führer's 56th birthday, and ends on May 2, the day the Soviets captured Berlin. Hitler's Führerbunker, located eight meters below the Reich Chancellery and with walls of eight meters thick concrete, was the place where Hitler withdrew in the last days of the Third Reich and from where he led the German army. Although it was obvious that Germany was going to lose the war and the Soviets had surrounded Berlin, Hitler continued to give his troops impossible orders. However, many units were already destroyed or unable to attack. This documentary chronicles the many dramatic events that took place in these last few days.
