Trance plot
"Evil sleeps, but never dies."
Nora and Jim are a couple of alcoholics from New York. When her doctor advises Nora to stop drinking, they take their six-year-old son to Nora's grandparents' estate in Ireland. When they arrive, they learn from Uncle Bill that Nora's grandmother has gone insane and that Bill is virtually blind. Nora soon discovers that the bleak house and her eccentric family are being held captive by a terrible force from the past...
