This Man's Navy plot
"Love and Laughs and Roaring Action!"
During the war, pilot Ned Trumpet brags about his nonexistent son. Trumpet arranges surgery for Jess Weaver, who became paralyzed while riding a horse. Then Weaver pretends to be Trumpet's son and enlists in the Navy. At his command, Weaver carries out an unauthorized attack on a German submarine. Because otherwise he will have to face a court martial, Trumpet takes responsibility.
