"We are the first. USSR."
"Pervye na Lune" is a mockumentary that mixes real imagery with fake additions to tell a "secret" piece of space history from the Soviet Union. A team of five cosmonauts is selected and trained in the Soviet Union in the late 1930s to make them the first humans to be sent into space in a rocket. Using authentic material from the Stalinist Soviet period, combined with real-looking reports and undercover footage, the project is followed from the beginning to the sad end.
