Secretary Lorry Jones (Betty Grable) is arguably the most coveted object in the Missouri military canteen. She is "engaged" to virtually every mechanic for whom she has signed her photo. But now she leaves, in government service, for New York where she can entertain the American army troops. There she meets her true love in the form of war hero Tommy Dooley (John Harvey).
