"THE BIG SHOW is BIGGER THAN EVER!"

Louis Blore (Red Skelton) works as a nightclub clerk and is in love with May Daly (Lucille Ball), the star of the show. An incident knocks Louis out. He dreams that he is King Louis XV of France, who is after the dazzling Madame Du Barry (Lucille Ball again). In his dream also appears Black Arrow (Gene Kelly) who in real life is Alec Howe, the poor dancer May is in love with.
