The Proud Valley plot

David Goliath, looking for work in a Welsh mining town. Thanks to the friendship with Dick Parry, the local choirmaster and miner, he finds work and a home. During an explosion in the mine, Parry dies and the mine is closed, leaving most people in town out of work. After protests, the mine reopens and Goliath risks his life to rescue the miners who are still trapped.
