Ahdat Sanawovach el-Djamr plot
Achmed and his family are forced to leave their rural village in search of water. They end up in the big city. During the period when Achmed tries to adapt to city life, he is forced to fight with an Algerian army unit in the Second World War. When Achmed returns a few years later, he sees that the French domination of his country has only increased. Achmed joins the ever-growing resistance to colonialism.
