In terms of mystery, this one is more than successful. I've seen it before and think it's even better when I rewatch it. No real scares, but that was made up for by the faster narrative pace than the average mystery film that sometimes muddles on for too long or slowly ripples through where I lose my attention. I thought it was a very successful story. I think I have understood the ending better now than the first time I saw it, although I do feel that you can interpret this in several ways. I thought the images were beautiful, the Welsh landscape is beautiful and impressive but on the other hand it also makes for horrifying images. Every time I saw people end up in the water, it made me cold

Pretty average horror, with some forced scares, which occasionally do reach their goal. It also looked a lot like a TV movie. Only about 90 minutes and yet I thought it was long.

The story is set around a place where a cult committed mass suicide, and is interesting in itself, but I found the elaboration clearly below par. I also thought it all ended a bit abruptly, because we don't know where the real Sarah is now, bit unsatisfactory.

Nice video that is turned around by 1 thing..

The setting is pleasantly desolate and the dark atmosphere contributes to a nice build-up of tension. You get into it at some point, and then...

Maria Bello's terrible screeching begins, and all the preceding is totally nullified. The voltage is back to zero and Fawcett can start again. And so on a number of times that I had second thoughts about her role. What an annoying character.

The last 20 minutes make it worth it, but otherwise this is just an annoying movie.

2*
